Psychologist and author Professor Bruce Hood had a vision which would bring academic speakers and event organisers together. It’s particularly beneficial for students, allowing them to gain experience and credit whilst disseminating their research at public events. He called it ‘Speakezee’.
I worked on this project from the very beginning of the concept and led on all things design, working closely with Bruce to create the brand and the online directory of searchable academic profiles. The logo derives from visual cues you would see on a search field, with faded auto-complete text following the type cursor. The website is all about the speakers so it needed to be simple and understated, incorporating a social brand with an academic edge.
